Dr Maurice O'Farrell


Dr Maurice O'Farrell has never accepted any remuneration from a pharmaceutical company or any industry group. He has served as a member of a Novo Nordisk advisory board and a Johnson & Johnson advisory board - both of these were unremunerated positions. 


He is a committee member of the Association for the Study of Obesity in Ireland (ASOI).

Professor Carel Le Roux


Professor Carel Le Roux reports grants from the Irish Research Council, Science Foundation Ireland, Anabio, and the Health Research Board.


He serves on advisory boards of Novo Nordisk, Herbalife, GI Dynamics, Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Glia, and Boehringer Ingelheim.


Professor Le Roux is a member of the Irish Society for Nutrition and Metabolism outside the area of work commented on here. He is an advisor to BeyondBMI and owns shares in the company.


He was the chief medical officer and director of the Medical Device Division of Keyron in 2011. Both of these were unremunerated positions. He continues to provide scientific advice to Keyron for no remuneration.


Prof Le Roux is a member of the Irish Obesity National Clinical Program Clinical Advisory Group.
